This year in biology I thought the only thing we would do in class would be cutting open poor baby pigs to explore the different systems in the body. A memorable moment when my perspective about being a scientist changed was when I was confused about how something related to biology. We had to do an abstract drawing but I didn’t understand the importance of the activity or how that would help us with biology. I realized that in order to create an abstract drawing of something you have to pay close attention to it so you could think of how to change it. Just like being a scientist you have to pay close attention to what you are working on.This semester I feel like I have evolved as a scientist because I have definitely learned to pay more attention to small detail. Before when we had to draw what we saw inside of a small square area I didn’t realize we were practicing trying to capture all the small detail we could so we could in a way prepare for our painting process.
